Based on the Dutch Kusspupen (Kissing Puppet) figurines of the 1950’s, these updated kissing dolls play off Trump's claim that his political enemies are kissing buddies: “I could give you 100 pictures of him [ Robert Mueller ] and Comey hugging and kissing each other.”
They also draw inspiration from the famous Berlin Wall mural of East Germany's Erich Honecker
and Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev kissing as well as a more recent mural on a Lithuanian restaurant depicting Trump kissing Putin.
